So it thought it might be cool to start putting up a quick post on mondays what tunes we did at the weekend experience… and some thoughts about ‘em. When I”m leading I’m prety much living with these songs for a few weeks, so God can really have space to teach me something… the links here will take you to the oakbrook iTunes iMix where you can buy the songs for $.99 each…
1. all because of jesus steve fee (buy it from the iTunes oakbrook iMix)
*I really got on this song about a year ago after bigstuf. It’s super high energy, and one of my friends hooked me up with the drum loop that fee actually uses… pretty cool. This whole set came together around this idea that God makes us Alive. That it’s in HIM and HIS TRUTH we really find freedom and life… so hopefully the progression from JESUS… to singing “it’s gonna be alright” (salvation is here) to singing the three great truths of the Christian Faith really took us there…
2. salvation is here hillsong united (buy it from the iTunes oakbrook iMix)
*salvation is here has been on my frequently played list for probably more than a year. I love a song that speaks such practical truth… putting words on our lips like “I know God saved that day” and “God above and the world in motion” and “jesus is alive” and “it’s gonna be alright!” No matter what your “deal” is today… these words are true.
3. mystery charlie hall (sorry… you can’t buy it!)
*ok… so I’ve had a bunch of people ask me about this tune. It’s seriously amazing. Charlie Hall just caught something so God, so Big in these simple words and music. The song is actually not out yet. Charlie’s new record drops this fall sometime, and it will be on there. Funny story about this, Charlie came and played the week before easter, played this song for the first time in public, I loved it so much, I pulled another song out of easter and put this one in… so we’ve probably done this almost as many times as Charlie has! So to here this song you’ll have to just keep coming to Oakbrook on sundays untill the new Charlie Hall record drops, which you all will buy in massive quantities!

Just curious….is the “Mystery” song the one with the lyrics “your love is like a rock” ? Or is it the one that derives from the Holy Eucharist II- We remember his death- We proclaim his resurrection-We await for his coming glory
What are the lyrics to mystery?….By the way…great blog
you got it… the lyrics are:
sweet jesus christ my sanity
sweet jesus christ my clarity
bread of heaven, broken for me
cup of salvation held up to drink
jesus, mystery
christ has died and
christ has risen
christ will come again
could you please give me the chords for Jesus Mystery? i heard it at the regional in Atlanta, and it has recently popped back up in my heart.
thanks.
